Re: noise reduction does not work

If you are using Windows Media Player or iTunes, then they may be playing the original unprocessed file in their library rather than the new processed file. Try using a better media player such as Foobar2000 or VLC.

Re: S/PDIF Loopback

S/PDIF is digital, but that does not necessarily guarantee that it will be bit-perfect. Unless it's broken / not working correctly, then the quality will be very good even if not bit-perfect. It will not be bit-perfect if there are any buffer underflows or overflows, and will not be bit-perfect if t...

Re: How to downgrade to 2.1.3? 2.2.0 is far too buggy.

You will need to uninstall Audacity, then remove or disable the PPA from your SourcesList. Then visit the PPA, download the deb package for 2.1.3 and install it. None of my keyboard shortcuts are reliably working Are you aware that Audacity 2.2.0 has a reduced set of predefined shortcuts by default?...

The version of Audacity in Ubuntu 17.04 is Audacity 2.1.2-2.

Where does your version of Audacity come from?
What are the bugs that are causing problems for you?

Re: Audio Leveling

The "Limiter" provides a similar effect to the old Leveler effect, but with much less distortion. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/limiter.html If you want the distortion that the Leveler effect gave, there are settings in the "Distortion" effect that are virtually identical to...

Neither can I. It is a weird format, and I've not found anything that will play it correctly.
I've also been unable to find any support channel for SuperNote software.
