Re: Audacity froze, i can't record, i can't close it ...
Before you do anything else, try moving the windows around in case there is a dialog window open somewhere (perhaps hidden behind another window, or perhaps minimised), waiting for you to enter a response.

Re: Two (or more) bugs
13) Like you I get orphan block files (only 4 as I only made short recordings) That shouldn't happen, so I'd say that is a bug. At step (5), Audacity saves the first project and copies data from the tmp directory to the project's "_data" folder. Steps 7 to 9 will add new blockfiles to pro...

Re: Audacity 2.2.0 on Zorin OS 9 (Ubuntu 14.04)?
Too get a later version than 2.1.2, you would probably need to build Audacity from source, and you would have to upgrade gcc from 4.8 to 4.9 before you start. (see: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=292521#p292521) If you do want to do that, I would recommend building Audacity 2.2.1 rat...

Re: Issues with Exporting .mp3s
Please try this and let us know what happens: 1) Shut down your computer (completely, not just "sleep"), the reboot. This is to reduce the chance that something running in the background is causing the problem. 2) Launch Audacity 3) From the Generate menu, generate a 30 second duration ton...

Re: Analysis: Sliding windowing with fft capability
I'm sure there's some additional information about OOP with Nyquist, but I can't find it at the moment (I'm probably looking in the wrong place ;) ) I'll post a link if / when I find it. If you subscribe to this topic (link at bottom of page), you should receive email notifications when there are re...

Re: Audacity is already running
There is probably a lock file left over in the temp directory. The lock file prevents multiple instances of the Audacity application (which could cause data corruption). Normally the lock file is deleted when Audacity exits, but it could get left behind if Audacity crashed or the computer shut down ...

Re: Wish-list on Compressed saving
I checked and did not find. I would suggest: • Save project's compressed copy 1) Give the option to compress a project loss-lessly 2) Give the possibility to save the divisions present inside each track (instead of merging them all during the compression process): indeed, track divisions are essent...
