Re: CALF effects, they do not work.
I've built the plug-is from source, and can reproduce the problem. When running a debug build of Audacity, I see these errors: lilv_world_add_plugin(): error: Duplicate plugin <http://calf.sourceforge.net/plugins/Analyzer> lilv_world_add_plugin(): error: ... found in file:///usr/local/lib/lv2/calf.l...

Re: Problem Recording output of ZEDi10 4 channel mixer
The ZEDi-10 appears to not be connected. You need to connect the ZEDi-10 to your computer first, then launch Audacity, then get the device info.

It may be too much to ask Asking is fine :) If it's not available now, we can log it as a feature request. Feature requests are best posted on this board: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewforum.php?f=20 where they remain visible for longer, so more likely to attract discussion and possibly suppor...

Re: Problem Recording output of ZEDi10 4 channel mixer
Can I enable Audacity to see all 4 channels as potential inputs (recognizing that it will use a maximum of 2)? It depends on the hardware drivers. If the ZEDi has a multi-channel WDM or WASAPI driver, then Audacity should be able to record all 4 channels simultaneously. If the drivers only provide ...

Re: WAV files
16-bit PCM WAV is compatible with just about everything.BoldShining wrote:Why do those files have to be exported as 16-bit ones though?
Many applications fail with 24-bit WAV, and even more fail with more obscure WAV formats.

Re: CALF effects, they do not work.
I've looked in Ubuntu package search, and I can't find Calf Studio Gear 0.90.0, only the 0.0.60 version (https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keyw ... ection=all).
How do 'normal users' install Calf Studio Gear 0.90.0?

Re: Exaggerated Claims about A to D Sampling Rates
An excellent series of videos about the subject, from one of Audacity's early contributors (now a developer at Xiph): https://wiki.xiph.org/Videos/Digital_Show_and_Tell

Re: Exaggerated Claims about A to D Sampling Rates
This is an interesting and complex issue, with surprises. The guys that worked this all our originally were Harry Nyquist and Claude Shannon . They developed what became known as the Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem (frequently referred to as the "Nyquist Theorem"). This theorem is fundame...

Re: blank progress box, minor bug
No need now, we've worked it out, but for future reference, it is very helpful if you include the full version number of Audacity, and details of your operating system, when you report a bug.steve wrote:Which exact version of Audacity are you using?
Thanks for your report.
