Re: How to copy selection
How I can make a selection that is made across all tracks? You can either: 1) Click and drag, starting from the top track, down to the bottom track. If there are a lot of tracks you may want to "Collapse All Tracks" (Ctrl + Shift + C) first: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/view_menu_tr...

Re: Audacity crashing when using chains
This is due to a bug in Audacity 2.2.0.
Please try the new Audacity 2.2.1 RC1 which should solve this problem. It's available here: https://www.fosshub.com/Audacity-devel.html/

Re: I don't want to record external sounds
Note that when recording what's playing on your computer, the recording level depends on the playback level. The "loopback" is effectively a connection from the output of the sound card to the input, so the louder the sound at the output, the higher the recording level will be. It is possi...

I've no idea what that means.nelsonkane wrote:The recording button will not move unless I delete what I recorded and change WASAPI back to what it was before.
Which "recording button" are you referring to?
What are you "changing back" to what?

Re: I don't want to record external sounds
I think it's still recording just external sounds. Is it or isn't it? Try making a loud sound near the computer microphone while recording. I've never heard of a WASAPI. :) It was a new feature in Windows Vista, and has been part the Windows sound system ever since. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us...

Re: I don't want to record external sounds
For all modern versions of Windows, the best way to record sounds that are playing on the computer (and not from the microphone) is to use the "WASAPI loopback" method described here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html (This method does ...

Re: SHIFT and Left-Click always plays from the start.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It is a bug. The old behaviour 'should' still happen, but I see that it no longer does.
I'll log this on the Audacity bug tracker and hopefully it can be fixed soon.

Re: Turn Off Autoplay
Thanks for your suggestion trucknfarmr, but to me, the original poster's description does not sound like the "Quick Play" feature. They wrote: I press stop- it starts playing, I try to trim the track - it starts playing, I load the track....you guessed it starts flippin' playing!!!!! To st...

Re: What's Wrong Here..?
When talking into the mic. do you see the green bars as shown in the "yours" image against the USB device in your control panel? https://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=19056 From the first post: So... I am getting the sound from my mic in my headphones okay. But... when I clic...
