Re: Recording while playing back a song file in Audacity
What I am trying to accomplish doesnt make sense, does it. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me ;) but I do notice that your English language skills are very good. If you find Audacity to be a useful program, perhaps you would be interested in helping to translate it into Japanese, as that is one o...

Re: I have a problem
I plugged in my microphone into my computer, but Audacity wasn't recording any sounds, even songs I was just playing on iTunes. You need to give more details: What are you trying to record, your microphone or sounds playing on your computer (iTunes)? What operating system are you using? Which versi...

Can't really blame MediaInfo: the file header says that the sample rate is #00007D00, which is 32000 Hz, though from listening to the file, that is clearly not the case.Trebor wrote:I think MediaInfo is giving you a bum steer

Re: No recording with TASCAM MINI STUDIO
If you are using Audacity 2.2.0:
open "Help menu > Diagnostics > Audio device info".
Save the info when it appears.
Attach the saved info file to your reply.

Re: Recording while playing back a song file in Audacity
The record button will be greyed out while Audacity is playing. If you want to record, stop playback first, then click the record button and Audacity will begin recording. What exactly are you trying to do? If you just want a copy of an MP3 file, you don't need to use Audacity or any other software ...

I don't see a screenshot. This page may help with that: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936 Am playing a video in a web browse Is that what you want to record - the sound that is playing through the web browser? If so, then that's not the "line in". "Line in&...

Re: Creating gapless playback for digitization, not CD rippi
Then I go to edit labels and create labels for the individual songs, with the previous song ending at the same time mark as the next song is beginning. It sounds like you are using "region labels". Try using "point labels" instead. Then "Export Multiple" based on label...

Reading that again, what do the numbers say on the vertical ruler at the left end of the audio track? Have you just zoomed out vertically? http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/zoom ... al_zoomingleonclarke wrote:The waveform display is greyed out top and bottom for both channels,

I presume that you are recording to a stereo track? (in the device toolbar, the "number of channels" set to "2 (stereo)".
Check in the Windows Sound Control Panel that the recording device is also set to record 2 channel stereo.
