Re: Inverting audio using Nyquit?
But I still can't figure out why nothing works, other than the tube distortion I think you're missing how program flow works in Nyquist / Lisp. It's actually not much different from most other scripting languages. (The examples below may all be run from the Nyquist Prompt effect) The script progres...

Re: Positive-Negative Audio Peak Comparison
It would be pretty easy to write a " Nyquist script " to measure the positive and negative extremes, provided that the track being measured is not too long (up to about an hour should be straightforward), Example as a simple script that can be run in the Nyquist Prompt effect: (this versio...

Re: recording more then one track at the same time
I was told that I may be able to record two mono tracks at the same time. also I read something in the manual that mentioned multi-track recording was possible with the right hardware / software and audacity settings. If you have a mixer, and something other than the recording computer to play the ...

Re: Lost audio end part when converting from Mono to Stereo
Are there any computers of the last 20 years that don't?kozikowski wrote:Some systems can deal with 4Gb
I've not seen the problem occur below 4GB in the last decade.
For a standard WAV file, the 4GB limit is absolute - data beyond 4GB cannot be accessed. Very often, exceeding 4GB will corrupt the file.

Re: Lost audio end part when converting from Mono to Stereo
I'm not sure what went wrong, but there's a much easier way to make a single channel stereo recording play through both L and R channels: 1) Split to Mono 2) Delete the empty track (click on the [X] in the top left corner of the track. That's all. it will play through both L and R channels. When exp...

Re: How to automatically chop or cut a track into short piec
If there is common metadata that you want in all the exported files, you open the Metadata Editor (in Audacity 2.2.0 or later, it's in the Edit menu. Earlier versions, in the File menu) and enter the data that you want (or clear it if you want none) before you start the export. Then, as waxcylinder ...

Re: recording more then one track at the same time
A better way is to import the backing track, and then record your vocal track.bushwackermark wrote:i'd like to record a karaoke song and my vocals at the same time as two separate tracks.

Re: Active noise reduction
If you are on Windows, look in the Windows Sound Control Panel at the microphone settings. You will probably find a noise reduction setting in the "Enhancements" section. Note: real-time noise reduction is difficult. When recording it is highly recommended to turn off the Windows sound enh...

Re: Appears to have recorded but sound drops out for 10mins
I expect that it is Skype messing with the levels.
If you shut down Skype completely (so that it is not even running in the background), are you able to get a normal recording from your mic for more than 10 mins?

Re: Audio rapidly mutes and unmutes
This happens even before I click anything within Audacity. When I launch Audacity, there are not any tracks, so there aren't any mute buttons. What are you doing different? I did once have something similar to this happen - it was due to a key on my keyboard sticking, so that it was constantly firi...
