If you can remember what effects you used, you could make a "Chain", and then apply that Chain to other tracks / files.

I presume that you mean "XP SP3" (which is a different beast from the original "XP").

"Tracks menu > Mix and Render" will mix down all selected tracks into one continuous track.

In that case you should have a folder:
/user/share/audacity/

We trialed WDM-KS in an old version of Audacity, but found that many sound card WDM-KS drivers were buggy and could cause a complete system crash, so support for WDM-KS has been withdrawn from Audacity. There are no immediate plans to bring it back as we don't have a developer to work on it.

There's nothing to stop you using Audacity 1.2.6, but if you have problems then you're on your own. because right to left language implementation is flawed, as can be seen from the numbers on the timeline. Getting it to work correctly is very difficult, especially as there are RTL bugs in WxWidgets (which is the GUI toolkit that Audacity uses).
