Re: Addinig Punch-n-Roll capability to Audacity.
I can see how he is using it (and that is the same video), but what I'm saying is that he gives a false impression of "how easy it is". Example: Here we see him use punch and roll to make a correction: https://youtu.be/kY40lbIyuhs?t=4m30s We can see from the waveform that there is a gap be...

Re: Addinig Punch-n-Roll capability to Audacity.
Please let me know if this is not clear The previous video was clear about what he was doing - I was just frustrated that he didn't even once play the result of the punch in. Rather than me sitting through another quarter hour episode, perhaps you could give set the "start at" time for th...

Re: Error running Audacity on Ubuntu Artful 17.10
When / where do you see that error?
Is that the full message?
Have you checked to see if the problem is logged on Ubuntu's bug tracker?

Re: Question about making mono from stereo
I'd be curious analyze them in a more precise way. A fairly quick and easy way: 1) Select the track. 2) Apply the "Vocal Remover" effect with default settings (as shown here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/vocal_remover.html) Whatever is left, is the mathematical difference between th...

Re: Addinig Punch-n-Roll capability to Audacity.
Well that was a frustrating quarter hour. Show me ONE place in that video where he plays across the join between takes. Every single time that it looked like he was going to do that, he either stopped the playback or started a new recording. Sorry but I just don't believe the phrase: "By the ti...

Re: [Windows 7] How to play audio on multiple audio devices?
Audacity only supports 2 channel playback.
Audacity can export multi-channel audio files that you may be able to play in another application. (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/adva ... tions.html)

Re: Question about making mono from stereo
1. Menu Bar>Tracks>Stereo Track to Mono This "mixes" the left and the right channels to create a single mono track. This is most useful when the stereo track has very different left / right channels and you want both sides in the mono version. 2. Track Control Panel>Dropdown Menu>Split St...

Re: Addinig Punch-n-Roll capability to Audacity.
I'm not familiar with ProSonus Studio One. How does it handle the transition from one take to the next? For example, if you inadvertently overlap the first word in the new take with with the last word in the previous take, how do you recover from that?
