Re: Hello and greetings

rath_deviceinfo.txt This is interesting, because it does not agree with what is showing in the Device Toolbar, but it does explain what the problem is. According to the device info: Selected recording device: 1 - Stereo Mix (Realtek High Defini Selected playback device: 3 - Speakers (Realtek High D...

Re: Dead Preview button on Generate > Chirp, Tone, Noise, DT

Thanks for the report. I've moved this to the "Feedback" section of the forum as this is a cross-platform issue (it also occurs on Linux, and I'm guessing it will occur also on Mac). To work around the issue, create a track first (Tracks menu > Add New > ...) and make a selection in the ne...

Re: Drop Outs and "slip offs" in Audacity

It sounds like it may be two separate issues. Second one first: I was monitoring the recording session with headphones connected at the UCA222 headphone port, which is in fact a duplication of the "OUT" RCA plug connections from the interface. ... all of a sudden I heard a glitch, as in to...

Re: converting a project recorded in mono to stereo

The WIX web site will only upload stereo MP3 files That's a bit rubbish isn't it. OK, so here's what to do (instructions assume that you have Audacity 2.2.1 and have LAME installed http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_and_updating_audacity_on_windows.html#winlame): 1) Import the file into ...

Re: Compile 2.2.2 on Ubuntu 17.10

As indicated in the alert (red) paragraph at the top of the wiki page, that page is out of date. The instructions included in the source code are kept up to date, but are aimed primarily at developers (who are expected to be able to sort out dependency issues): https://github.com/audacity/audacity/b...

Re: Adjustable Fade "Error" error.

Look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Audacity
There should be a folder called "Nyquist". Is it there?
In that "Nyquist" folder should be 28 ".lsp" files and a folder called "rawwaves". Are they there?

Re: converting a project recorded in mono to stereo

It can't be converted to true stereo because you need at least two audio channels to convey stereo audio, and mono is only one channel. You can create a fake stereo effect by adding some kind of stereo reverb, or you can create a 2 channel file with the data duplicated into the other channel. Which ...

Re: Recording from Encore USB Cassette problem

When I press on Record and look through the window on the Encore device, the tape doesn't move. You mean you are pressing the record button in Audacity? Audacity does not control the USB cassette player, it just records whatever signal you send it. You have to start playback of the cassette player ...
