Re: My exported MP3 file levels are too high
I've been using Audacity for ten years and this is the first time I've encountered (noticed?) this problem. It's the first time that you have noticed. As DVDdoug wrote, this is normal for MP3 because it is a lossy format, which means that it is trying to approximate the original audio but with less...

Re: Drop Outs and "slip offs" in Audacity
my wild guess is that yes, it is very possible to listen through the headphones port of my UCA, provided the UCA is plugged into one of the the USB ports of my laptop. I expect that will be the case. If it is, then the most likely cause is a bad connection or a bad lead somewhere, and if that is th...

Re: Adjustable Fade "Error" error.
OK, let's try this: Ensure that Audacity is not running. Download Audacity 2.2.1 zip file (11.57 MB) from here: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ Test the SHA-256 to ensure that it has downloaded correctly (see: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/online-safety-when-downloading/) Extr...

Re: Extract audacity audioplayer sourcecode for personnal so
Audacity is not a good choice for this. As you can see from the source code (https://github.com/audacity/audacity), Audacity is massively more complex than your requirements. It would be much easier to just write a simple player using HTML5. This may be a useful reference: https://www.w3schools.com/...

Re: follow up How to generate arbitrary waveforms
Nyquist is very similar to LISP, in fact it is an extended version of XLISP. LISP is a very old computer language and there are many "dialects" which have subtle differences. You can find the manual for XLISP here: http://www.audacity-forum.de/download/edgar/nyquist/nyquist-doc/xlisp/xlisp...

Re: Audacity and High Sierra
At least one of the Audacity QA guys and one Audacity developer are using High Sierra. I'm still using Sierra and I'm holding off the upgrade for now because the upgrade will break the build script that makes the Mac "Nightly" builds. There will eventually be a 64-bit build of Audacity, bu...
Re: time
Do you mean the "frequency" (pitch), or the "sample rate" (the number of samples per second)? To change the frequency, use Change Pitch or Change Speed effects: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/change_pitch.html http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/change_speed.html To change the...

Re: Problem with voiceover
You probably need a better microphone / pre-amp, and don't apply so much noise reduction. You may be able to make some improvement by: 1) Record in a quieter place 2) Use less Noise Reduction 3) Apply the Equalization effect. The settings shown below suggest a starting point, but for best results yo...

Re: Removing repeating vocal sample
There's no good way to do that unless you have access to the pre-pix multi-track original.
The "not good" way would be to use specialist (very expensive) software such as Melodyne (by Celemony), and spend a week or two removing each occurrence of that vocal part.
