Re: Scripts execution and Pop-up message boxes
It depends what the pop-up messages are.
The pop-up asking for metadata prior to export can be disabled in Preferences:
"Edit menu > Preferences > Import / Export -> Show Metadata Tags editor before export"

Re: Firefox 58 Reports Insecure Connection
Maybe the forum's admin needs to disable a few old and insecure encryption protocols? The forum, and the other Audacity websites, use highly secure, professional SSL authentication across the board whenever "https://" is used as the web address. So as to avoid breaking compatibility, the ...

Re: Selection too (F1) has disappeared!
This isn't a known issue. Which exact three-section version of Audacity are you using (look in: "Help menu > About Audacity"). Which Audacity " theme " are you using? Do you see an "i-beam" cursor in other applications (such as when over normal text in your web browser)...

Re: Pitch Bend (from SndSampler for Mac)
Audacity has two built-in tools for 'bending' pitch:
1) http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/time_tracks.html
2) http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/slid ... shift.html

Re: Exporting M4A Lossless from v2.2.1 in Win-7
Maybe need to come up with a verification test of some kind? With the original track still in Audacity, import the M4A file. Apply the "Invert" effect to the M4A track. Select both tracks and "Tracks menu > Mix > Mix and Render". The result should be absolute silence if both tra...

I've re-read your post and I've changed my mind.steve wrote:Both are lossy.
Initially I was just looking at the bit-rate, (243 kbps) which is too low for stereo music.
Looking at your ffmpeg settings, that should be correct for ALAC lossless, and I presume that you were exporting a mono track.

According to the specifications, that mic should be able to handle a very loud voice.zijin_cheng wrote: I have an Art M-One Condenser Mic (USB)
Check in the Windows Sound Control Panel to ensure that Windows is not applying "boost" to the recording level.

Re: Minimum decibel cutoff for large quantity of files
If you mean that you want to remove quiet sounds that occur at the exact same time as louder sounds, that may not be possible.
What sort of "noise" do you want to remove?

Re: Exporting M4A Lossless from v2.2.1 in Win-7
So the question is: which file is compressed LOSSLESS and which one is LOSSY? Both are lossy. If you want lossless, I'd recommend sticking with 16-bit WAV (compatible with everything), 24-bit WAV (all studios should be able to support this, but 50% bigger than 16-bit, and rather over the top for sp...
