Click on the Behringer device, then look in the Properties.

As many as your computer can handle.
As you approach the limit, you will notice that Audacity starts to become sluggish, and there is a noticeable delay between clicking Play, and playback starting.

You also need to be careful about file names. This is mostly an issue when going from Mac to Windows. Some characters are valid for filenames on Mac but not on Windows.
