Re: Switch with the Tempo (with Wha) Effect

Thanks for posting Frenchgaby. That works well. Some tips that you may find useful: As a general rule, new plug-ins should be written as "version 4" plug-ins as the old version 3 syntax is deprecated. The main thing for version 4 are: 1) Use the header: ;version 4 2) Rather than the specia...

Re: BIG click noise when starting to play after scroll/zoom

Ever noticed this ? Not on this computer, though I know some computers (usually laptops) will turn off the sound card when it is not being used, and turn it back on again when sound is required, and it can make a loud click when it turns back on. If you are using a laptop, avoid running on batterie...

Re: Audacity 2.2.2 crashing- Cannot open anything

say I shouldn't have two Audacity programs open at the same time You can only have one instance of the Audacity application open at a time. It is possible to have multiple Audacity windows open simultaneously (you can use "File menu > New"), but generally I would not recommend doing so. A...

Re: Problems with levels (Bass mainly)

Getting music to sound good on multiple different systems is quite tricky, particularly when dealing with bass. Small speakers will typically not produce very low frequencies. Medium size speaker may either lack bass, or exaggerate bass. Ideally, you would use expensive "studio monitor" sp...

Re: metadata tags not showing

Audacity supports a limited number of tags, and only one set of tags per project (not per track).
If you import an MP3 with ID3v2.3 tags into a new empty project, the tags should appear in Audacity's Metadata editor.

Re: The effect sc4_1882.dll

What are the "Effect Output" lines (Amlitude, Gain reduction) for? This effect was not written specifically for Audacity. It is a "plug-in" effect, primarily intended for "real-time" processing. When used in a real-time DAW , those two lines will show the input signal ...

Re: Am I banned?

It's not a "glitch". I received complaints about you " trolling " (being repeatedly and deliberately antagonistic). As the forum administrator I had to make a decision whether to close your account, or leave it open with "probationary" access. I decided on the latter co...

Re: MOGG file support

Mogg files are a variation of the OGG format. Audacity can open "some" Mogg files using the OGG decoder. The OGG format is specified by xiph.org (https://xiph.org/ogg/) I'm not aware of any official specification for Mogg files, sometimes they are standard OGG files with just the file exte...

Re: Rhythm track with complex time signatures

Not all guitarists play 4/4 or 3/4. Not all fiddle players do either (I'm a violinist), but I can play a 5/4 rhythm against a click track that has a strong beat on "1" and 4 week beats. I don't find it essential to have a semi-strong beat on "4" (and a 5/4 rhythm could change th...
