Re: Cannot use this Software!
All I wanted to do was record each track, save it as I go along record the next one etc. First thing to do is a test recording to get everything working - that's the hard part, and then it should all be plain sailing. Do you have Audacity 2.2.2 installed? (you can check the version number in "...

Re: Routing Input problem on Audacity
Do i need to update my audacity? That won't fix this problem, but I would definitely recommend that you upgrade to Audacity 2.2.2. (2.0.3 is very old, and there have been a lot of improvements and bug fixes since then). You can get Audacity 2.2.2 via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.o...

Re: Recording volume way too low... can't work out why
Ensure that you have the mic pointing in the right direction. It looks like a "side addressed" mic, but it is actually "front addressed" (talk into the end, not the side). I've never used a PR30 for vocals, only for drums (I really like how they handle a snare drum). With them ha...

Re: Cannot use this Software!
After the first week of this, you may decide the repurchased music may be worth the trouble. I split the difference. I only transferred the records I really, really wanted and gave the others away. On the other hand, our friend "waxcylinder" converted his entire record collection (thousan...

Re: What is this skipping called and can it be fixed?
I'm going with "no". It sounds much like the kind of noise that occurs when a CD "skips", and that is notoriously difficult to improve.graydini wrote:Is there any way to fix these recordings ?

Re: Small mouse pointer on Windows 10
We are aware that there are problems with high dpi monitors. Audacity is not dpi aware, and until it is there will be no solution to this problem.
We welcome contributions from software developers to improve Audacity.

Re: Will playing clipped audio damage speakers?
In my experience, laptop speakers are pretty robust, and the built-in amplifiers do not produce sufficient power to damage the speakers. Disclaimer: There may be some laptop somewhere where this is not the case. Playing clipped audio through a hi-fi or other equipment "could" cause speaker...

Re: Cannot use this Software!
I think your post is a little unfair. This is the support channel for Audacity software, and you only posted 10 minutes ago, so not really fair to say "NO support". We don't make or sell record players, cassette players, CD / DVD drives, CD / DVD burning software, or audio interfaces, so i...

Re: Re-quantising 24-bit to 16-bit
And if you are then really serious about getting the very best quality out of the vinyl, you should then let the LP cool down before re-playing it to record it. The act of dragging the stylus through the vinyl grooves heats up the vinyl and distorts it slightly - hence the need for the cool-down. B...

Re: Tiny Click on edit points
The first thing is; whenever possible, make your edits start and end where the audio is silent. If that is not possible, then for music, try to start and end at "zero crossing points" immediately before strong beats in the music. The onset of the beat will mask any click that may occur. So...
