A sound like that could be generated in Audacity, but much easier to just use an existing sound effect.

I don't know what you mean by "3 levels dow" - it's just one click on the button:darkcyber wrote: buried about 3 levels down.

Re: Questions about Audacity 2.2.2
There is still a "Zoom to fit" button (see: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/edit_toolbar.html#fit_to_width) and the shortcut "Ctrl + F". The File menu is not customizable, but you can set keyboard shortcuts for the various Export options. "Ctrl + Shift + E" is the de...

Re: Why are there so many e08__ data files in a recording?
is it best to keep and edit/adjust the original Audacity Project? Keep the project until you are sure that the job is entirely done, complete, ended. What I do on completing important projects: 1) Check for dependencies, and ensure that the project is self contained (all dependencies copied into th...

Re: no fix for unclosed token ?
"unclosed token at line XXX" isn't actually a bug - it's a warning that that the AUP file is broken. There have been a number of improvements to make saving projects more robust in recent versions of Audacity, but it is not possible for software to protect against all possible failures (su...

Re: Splitting into multiple tracks but without sound gaps
Can you recommend a cd drive that is DAO compatible? Unfortunately there is no clear answer. Some optical drives support DAO and some don't. The only way to know before you buy is to look at the specifications. Note that TAO (Track At Once) is NOT the same as DAO (Disk At Once). Google tells me tha...

Re: Splitting into multiple tracks but without sound gaps
Use "point labels" (not "region" labels) to mark where you want to split the track. Export Multiple will then export from one marker to the next, ensuring no gaps and no overlaps. Export as "WAV" files. WAV is a lossless format so there is no significant loss of sound q...

Re: Tagging while recording (Windows 10, Audacity 2.2.2)
"Ctrl + M" will add a marker label.

Re: XLR Mic Only Showing on One Channel
Yes you can do that, but once they are mixed they cannot be un-mixed. Better to keep them as separate mono tracks until ready to export, so they can then be adjusted / processed / edited separately if necessary.kozikowski wrote:In post production, it's Tracks > Mix > Mix Stereo down to Mono.

Re: XLR Mic Only Showing on One Channel
Is there a way in Audacity (or Windows even) to have both mics distributed evenly across both channels? If you want to record one microphone, distributed across both left and right, use input 1 of the Scarlett 2i4 and set Audacity to record "1 channel (mono)". If you want to record two mi...
