Re: Reversing tremolo effect after a close-out
You can substantially reduce the effect quite easily. Use the same settings, but with the phase shifted by 180 degrees. So for your initial settings of: Waveform type: sine, starting phase: 0, wet level: 40%, Frequency: 4.00Hz you will need to apply the effect with settings of: Waveform type: sine, ...

Re: Mono / Stereo
I'm not sure what you mean by "without additional manipulations", but you could record in stereo, and then "Tracks menu > Mix > Mix Stereo Down to Mono". Or if you want the final result as an MP3 file, you can just record as stereo and export as a mono MP3 (select the "Force...

Re: Microphone cutting out
Check the USB socket, and / or try a different USB socket. Ensure that the USB cable is not pulling on the plug - position it so that there is a bit of slack in the cable. Avoid running other applications at the same time as your recording. Ensure that background maintenance tasks do not occur whil...

In Audacity 2.2.2, the label editor is in:

Re: Problem: louder recording
Ensure that all the devices that you are using are set to use 44100 Hz sample rate (check each device in the Windows Sound Control Panel ), and ensure that the "Project Rate" (lower left corner of main Audacity window) is also 44100 Hz. Some info about setting the sample rate in Windows he...

Re: Microphone cutting out
When it first happened, I thought my mike went out and so we bought a new mike and then all this business with not getting it to work until we finally uninstalled and then restarted the computer. What sort of microphone? Were they both the same make / model? Is it a USB mic? What other programs are...

Re: beeps in recording
It'll be tough to take out those beeps without affecting the other sound too much. As you can see in the [url-http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/spectrogram_view.html]track spectrogram view[/url], the beeps sweep upwards in frequency, one from about 260 Hz to 340 Hz, and another from about 500 Hz to...

Re: Process selection with external command
Yes, I'd love to have such flexibility to be able to run any filtering code, written in any language (not even in shell or lisp or something else particular). It doesn't mean it can't be done with Nyquist, it just means there are already complex algorithms exist, written in different languages. And...

Re: Process selection with external command
Was it some security issue? I think it was, though the decision pre-dates my involvement with Audacity. Could we have a warning on some wiki page about this limitation, so new users won't waste their time trying to use it? The "system" function is not listed in the Nyquist language refere...

Re: Unable to record on Audacity
If you have a branded computer and the sound card is the original sound card built into the computer, then the correct drivers should be available from the manufacturers website.
