Re: How to remove the sound of the "push button" from an audition of "The Voice"?

I would like to know how to remove the sound of the push button and the applauses from the audio I downloaded. Is it possible? How long is the recording, and how many months are you willing to spend "fixing" it? It "may" be possible to remove the button clicks one at a time by u...

Re: Roll back to older version?

Does anyone know whether it is possible to roll back to an older version of Audacity while keeping things like macros? Macros should be mostly compatible between Audacity 2.4.2 and Audacity 3.0.0. Project made in Audacity 3.0.0 can not be opened by Audacity 2.4.2. Where can I safely download the fi...

Re: Need help with JVC M-510 microphone

It powered by one 1.5V AA battery. I cannot find any information if it can take the phantom power and if "yes", what is the phantom power voltage. If it takes a battery, then it almost certainly should NOT have phantom power. (I have a couple of similar mics that are powered by a single A...

Apparently i was too happy see it running after the "4. Testing the build" point, I forgot to continue to read the instructions.
:)
Glad it's working now.

Please don't type all in upper case - it is considered bad etiquette.

Do you have any audio devices enabled in the Windows Sound control panel? If so, what are they?

Re: Help recovering PCM audio!

The file seems to be a "Micronas SC4 ADPCM" file. This is an ancient proprietary codec for speech recording. I've not found any app that supports this format. MPlayer was looking quite promising. It successfully detected the file type, but failed to open it. None of my usual go-to tools we...

Re: Mono recording only

So the only logical thing is that there is some bug in Audacity that creating this No, that is not logical. "Audio MIDI Setup" is part of macOS. It has nothing to do with Audacity. It is made by Apple. Audacity can only access the number of channels provided by the operating system. In th...

Re: breaking an mp3 into parts by detecting silence as breakpoint

My aim is to find dB level of silent part So I choose analyze > plot spectrum That's the wrong tool for the job. Try using "Effect > Amplify" but do not apply the effect . Just look at the number in the first box: "Amplification (dB)" That is the amount of amplification required...

I still get resultant quality loss due to the additional generation?
Yes. There is some quality loss every time that it is (re-)encoded to MP3.

The loss can be minimized by using a high bit-rate (at the expense of a larger file size).

Re: How to record from SPDIF optical

Does the SPDIF input show up in the Windows Sound control panel?
If it does, do you see any activity in the recording level meter when you input a signal through SPDIF?
