Re: crashes

Perhaps your Focusrite solo USB sound card is not connected securely to the Macbook (assuming that you are recording via a Focusrite solo USB on a Macbook).

Re: no sound

What are you trying to record?
What equipment?
Which version of Audacity?
Which operating system?

Re: A mixed mono track with 2 different RMS sources

there are sometimes constant small signal drops in both channels. A common cause for that on old tapes is that the magnetic surface of the tape is starting to break down and come off the tape (that's the brown dust that builds up in old cassette players). Slight dips in volume can sometimes be impr...

There's no default shortcut, but you can create a custom shortcut. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/key ... ences.html

Re: Error when trying to use Nyquist Noise Gate on long file

it's because this plugin holds the entire file in RAM and it times out as it's applying the effect because it runs out of storage This is a problem that is common to many Nyquist plug-ins (though I was not aware that it affected the Noise Gate plug-in). 64-bit builds of Audacity on Linux can handle...

Re: GSM 6.10 raw binary file not showing any output

Does the track length in Audacity match the expected length calculated from the file size?
Have you tried amplifying the track to see if it is really totally silent (The Amplify effect will show the amplitude of total silence as "-infinity").

Re: Get rid of/Hide the scrollbars when nothing to scroll

This is somehow unnecessary and confusing. Confusing? You're kidding, right? Despite your carefully selected "worst case scenario" image, I'm struggling to see how this is anything more than a very minor cosmetic issue at most. Of course, if this feature request gathers support from other...

Re: how can I find out if a music's volume is high or low?

When I import a music (e.g. mp3) into GoldWave, the waveform can immediately tell the user if the music's volume is high or low by its waveform. Are there any functions in Audacity that can help me find out if a music's vo...

Re: How to point to manual

For Audacity to find a locally installed manual, it is essential that the manual is in the correct location. On MacOS the manual must go inside the folder containing the Audacity application. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/unzipping_the_manual.html Take particular care over how the manual ...
