Audacity does not ship with ASIO support enabled due to licensing restrictions, however, the problem may just be a matter of sample rate. S/PDIF usually uses 48000 Hz (48 kHz) sample rate, unless it is specifically for a CD player (in which case it is usually 44100 Hz / 44.1 kHz). Sound card drivers...

Where did you get the Audacity installer?
What is the exact name and size of the Audacity installer?
Did you check to sha256 of the Audacity installer? (see: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/o ... wnloading/)

SIM and SUM are equivalent. They both "add". They differ from "+" in that they can operate on sounds (and multi-channel sounds), whereas "+" only works with numbers. An alternative to using SEQ is to use SIM (or SUM) with "AT" (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~rbd/doc/n...

An example of "exact format":
6 channel, 16-bit Microsoft PCM WAV, 44100 Hz sample rate.

What should your files be?

I didn't see which version of Audacity - did I miss that
Some old versions of Audacity are much slower with some Nyquist plug-ins on 'Nix' platforms (probably including Mac OS), but that got fixed several versions ago (long enough ago that I don't immediately recall the exact details).
