It also compiles and runs flawlessly That's good. The Audacity source code does include libflac. By default Audacity uses system libraries when available, but it can be configured to prefer the local version. If you installed Audacity, it can be uninstalled: sudo make uninstall Clean the build, inc...

As can be seen from a spectrogram view, both of those sounds that you want to remove cover a broad range of frequencies. It is not possible to filter out those sounds without also removing much of the sound that you want to keep.

OK. I presume that you get the same (or very similar) error with the old version.

Have you tried compiling with flac disabled to see what happens?

Any particular reason why you are building an old version of Audacity? The current release version is 2.2.2.

If the files are named in alpha-numeric order, the tracks should be in order (top to bottom) when imported into Audacity. If the order is not correct, it will probably be easiest to rename them before you import them so that they are in the correct order (the "earliest" part as the top tra...
