Re: How can I suppress/remove ECHO effect with Audacity ?
Please, how can I suppress/remove ECHO effect with Audacity ? You should really deal with echo before you record. For example: Choose a room that does not have too much echo. Use directional microphones close to each speaker, or tie-clip microphones. Place sound absorbent baffles in the room to abs...

Re: Playback Sound Before But Not After APPLYING EFFECTS
I'm thinking that applying an effect may be a red herring, and that it is just that your audio playback is cutting out.
What is your playback system? Is it the built-in speakers on a laptop, or USB speakers, or headphones plugged into a USB sound card, or something else?

Re: mixing mono and stereo tracks
Leave them on separate tracks, and they will be mixed to a single stereo track when you export.

Re: Playback Sound Before But Not After APPLYING EFFECTS
Are you able to narrow this down to a few steps that reliably reproduce the problem? When you say "playback ceases", do you mean that Audacity appears to play, but no sound comes out, or that Audacity does not play at all (the playback cursor does not scroll across the waveform)? If you &q...

Re: Poor sound on export
The audio is badly distorted because it's too loud.
Is the sample that you processed a raw, totally unmodified recording (no effects applied, just recorded then exported without doing anything else)?
What microphone are you using and how is it connected to your computer?

Re: 2.2.2 often unresponsive
I use Audacity to edit audio books. In earlier versions, I would stop play, make a selection and delete and it would be instantaneous. For other users, that's what happens with Audacity 2.2.2. Perhaps your antivirus app is checking the temp data files. Try disconnecting from the Internet, then temp...

Thanks for this informative post AliceWonderMisc.
I have pinned this topic to the top of the Linux board so that it is easier for other CentOS users to find, but this does not imply endorsement by the Audacity team.
