Re: Waveform area does not resize, zoom, or scroll properly
Did you build Audacity from the source code, or is it an official Manjaro package (or something else)? It appears that your version of Audacity has been built with gtk3 rather than the required gtk2. If you built Audacity yourself, please refer to the build instructions in the "INSTALL" fi...

Re: I can never find the topic group I need to post my quest
After connecting the USB device, ensure that you Quit all Audacity sessions and restart Audacity, then "Help menu > Diagnostics > Audio Device Info". Wait for the info to appear, and click the "Save" button. Save the info somewhere convenient, then attach the saved file to your r...

Re: Missing audio after crash
When audio is processed, Audacity creates new data files containing the processed data. The old data files are retained until the end of the session so that you can "Undo". The "dangerous" thing about force quit (or any kind of quit) is that the Undo history does not survive - An...

Could you post a screenshot of that. I'm not sure what you mean but it could be relevant.Monte wrote:There are two thick lines on the track

Re: Time Shift Issue which I am hoping is a simple one
My guess is that there's an audio clip in the way - perhaps a very small one that is too small to see at normal zoom levels. Try zooming out enough that you can see plenty of empty space beyond the end of the track, then try dragging the track into the empty space. If it suddenly jumps over an invis...
Re: crashes
Did you connect the usb cassette capture device before launching Audacity? (Note that closing an application window does not close the program on a Mac. You have to explicitly "Quit" the program, otherwise it is still running in the background). Did you select the usb cassette capture devi...

Re: Why is the CTRL-M method not working?
Windows 10, Audacity 2.1.2 (downloaded yesterday). Get rid of that and check your computer for viruses. The current version is available via the Audacity website, and is Audacity 2.2.2: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ See also: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/online-safety-when...
