Re: How to record google hangouts?

I've never tried this myself, but it looks like Google supports this without additional software: https://support.google.com/youtube/answ ... 6?hl=en-GB

Re: No USB AUDIO CODEC in dropdown box

See if this helps: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=100117
I believe the issue described there can apply to any recording devices, not only microphones.

Re: No loop playback button?

What happened to the loop button you were planning 3 years ago? If it's there, I can't find it. Who are you addressing? Who was planning to add a loop playback button? You can loop play a selection with the shortcut "Shift + Space". Loop playback is also available via the Timeline "Q...

I'm interested in figures against the Limiter effect.
What is your interest? Is that you need to know for a particular purpose (in which case, what is the purpose), or are you just wanting to understand what it is doing behind the curtains?

Re: Incorrect reflection of the scope of actions (Limiter) in View - History.

It's telling you how much space will be reclaimed (how much additional disk space will become available) if you discard some of the history. For example, if you discard the first three levels, you will gain 59.2 + 2 + 2.5 = 63.7 MB of free space on your hard drive. The amount of space used by the pr...

Re: Audacity suddenly automatically importing downloaded files

Two things that you can do: 1) Disable Safari's 'Open Safe Files After Downloading' Feature. There's an article about this here: https://www.lifewire.com/disable-open-safe-files-after-downloading-in-safari-446562 2) Associate the file type that Audacity is automatically opening with another applicat...

Re: Sample Rate Selection - Focusrite Scareltt 2i2

It's OK to have ASIO drivers installed, provided that there are no running applications using them when you want to run Audacity. ASIO drivers, when in use, take exclusive control of the audio device, which prevents applications that don't use ASIO from accessing the audio device.

Re: out of phase tones

You don't need any plug-ins to do this. Just use the Nyquist Prompt effect and type (or copy & paste) the command into the Nyquist Prompt effect.

You can enter any numeric value for the "phase" parameter. 360 degrees phase is identical to 0 degrees phase, and identical to -360 degrees.

Re: Fix small jump in volume?

You could try using the "Envelope Tool" (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/envelope_tool.html)
