Re: How do I improve the voice quality in such audio files?
I agree that boosting the 2 - 3kHz range, as you suggest, makes it a bit more intelligible (to me), but I'd not boost the 2kHz (2000 Hz) range as much as in your picture as (for me) it makes the sound very harsh and difficult to listen to for very long. However, this is a subjective matter, so whate...

Re: How do I improve the voice quality in such audio files?
How can I reduce the the noise a 'little" bit? ... What settings would you recommend in the 'Noise Reduction' Step 2 ? As a starting point, try 6, 6, 3. so as to get a clearer voice quality. I'm able to hear the voice better now, but it's still very "robotic". Can you suggest an even...

Re: Struggling to find a working chorus effect
There is a Nyquist plug-in called "Multi-Voice Chorus" available here: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=191763#p191763 Installing Nyquist plug-ins on a Mac may be found here: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_effect_generator_and_analyzer_plug_ins_on_mac_os_x.htm...

Re: Using Chains through Command Line
Audacity is not a good choice for running on a server. Some of the reasons being: Very heavy dependencies - it is designed as a GUI application using wxWidgets. Very little direct command line support (though passing commands through named pipes is possible) Requires fast, high availability data tra...

You can make it louder with the Amplify effect: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/amplify.html You may be able to reduce the background noise a little with the Noise Reduction effect (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/noise_reduction.html) but note that if you try to reduce the noise too much, t...

Re: Mouth noise hell
Now I know I'm not crazy... That's commonly known as a "drop out". As Koz wrote, it occurs when the sound cannot get from being a sound, to being data on the hard drive, fast enough. A bottleneck somewhere is preventing the computer from writing all of the data before the next data arrive...

Re: Where is the bit setting?
When recording, and for working in the project, it is nearly always best to use 32-bit float format.
Conversion to a lower sample format (such as 24-bit) is normally done by selecting the required export format. (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/fil ... ialog.html)

Re: Audio burst
If only a few peaks have gone just a little over 0 dB, it is sometimes possible to repair with the "Clip Fix" plug-in (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/clip_fix.html)
If there is more than just a little clipping, then repair is not possible.

Re: No loop playback button?
Gale passed away last year.
I'm steve, and I developed the "Quick Play loop" feature. As I wrote previously, now that we have that, I'm not convinced that we need a dedicated "Loop Play" button.

No it's not an error. I assume that you are asking out of interest (because you want to understand) rather than for a specific practical purpose, so I shall try to explain on that basis. It's probably easiest if I give an example. Note that I've approximated the values in MB because I can't be bothe...
