Re: Snap-to Disabling Itself
Unfortunately setting the format to seconds doesn't help either I wasn't suggesting that it would help. I was surprised that you said that it didn't work and was asking you to clarify what you meant. I now see that you are referring to the (similarly named, but different feature) "Snap to clip...

Re: TRANSFERRING MINIDISK TO PC WITH THE TRACK MARKS
You will need to add markers ("labels") yourself, then you can "Export Multiple" to export each marked section as a separate file. The procedure is the same as when recording tapes or vinyl: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/spl ... racks.html

Re: walkie talkie/megaphone effect
Just replying to tell that combining these two solutions come pretty close to perfection. Setting the last harmonic (10th) to the left amplifies the roughness even more! You are replying to a post that is over 7 years old. I doubt that the original poster will see your message. During the past 7 ye...

Re: Snap-to Disabling Itself
Unfortunately changing that setting does nothing. Really  Try setting that to "Nearest", then, in the Selection Toolbar (bottom of the main Audacity window), set the time format to "seconds" (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/selection_toolbar.html#formats), then t...

Re: MIDI playback questions
Audacity can't change the MIDI voices, but you can select any available MIDI device to play through. Some MIDI devices (particularly synths and samplers) allow you to change the sounds. You can select the MIDI playback device in Preferences: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/midi_devices_preferenc...

Assuming that there was a visible blue wiggly waveform when you recorded, see if this helps: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq ... k.html#usb

Re: Using Chains through Command Line
As I wrote, commands may be sent to Audacity via named pipes. This currently requires building Audacity from the source code and enabling mod-script-pipe, but that makes Audacity even less suitable for running on a server that has public access due to possible security holes that it may create.
