Re: How to fade effects in and out

If you want an "effect" to fade in, then: 1) Duplicate the track (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/edit_menu_copy_paste_and_duplicate.html#duplicate) 2) Apply the effect to the duplicate track. 3) Apply a fade-out to the original track and a fade-in to the duplicate track. You could als...

Re: unable to overdub

Audacity does not support ASIO drivers. I'm guessing that the "Zedi control panel" is an ASIO control panel for the Zedi8. To use Audacity with the Zedi8 you need to use the Zedi8 "WDM" (Windows) drivers and ASIO must not be running. You may need to ask on Allen & Heath's sup...

Audacity record the notes I play on the keyboard as well as the noise.
Is that faint organ sound behind the noise the sound that the keyboard is playing?

How are you recording the keyboard?

Re: Will a Master volume control ever be added?

The other thing desperately needed/missing is any sort of crossfading capability :/ Ideally we would like to have "non-destructive" crossfades, where audio clips may be overlapped on the same track, and the overlapping region crossfades. Audacity tracks do not currently support overlappin...

I'd be happy to provide a proper translation if you give me the original English text. That would be very welcome. If you provide a proper translation I will update the forum text. In English: Please note that most Audacity support members speak only English. Therefore, we can not guarantee an answ...

Re: Audacity freezing with PulseAudio

Developer discussions are mostly on the developer's mailing list. More information here: https://www.audacityteam.org/community/developers/ There is an archive of the developer's mailing list here: https://sourceforge.net/p/audacity/mailman/audacity-devel/ There's two ways that bug 276 could be fixe...

Re: Will a Master volume control ever be added?

So, will it be considered? I've logged your interest in this feature. It is a fairly popular request so I hope that it will be implemented in some form, but Audacity only has a very small team of developers and there's a lot of feature requests, so there's no guarantee that it will be implemented s...

Re: The program will not start

Remove all versions of Audacity from your computer, then reboot the computer. Download "Audacity 2.2.2 installer" via the Audacity web site: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ Run the installer (you may be prompted for your admin password), and look for the option to "Rese...

Re: "Audacity is already running" error.

Reboot the computer (without reopening current windows), then look in: ~/Library/Application Support/Audacity/Session Data where "~/" is your home folder. Find the file: audacity-lock-<yourUserName> and delete it. You should now be able to start Audacity. When shutting down the computer, e...

Re: Audacity Freezes on Scree Saver

When a computer goes to sleep, it may shut down running services to conserve power. This may include shutting down USB devices, audio devices, hard drives ... If a hard drive or sound card is shut down while Audacity is using it, Audacity is likely to freeze or crash. It is generally advisable (espe...
