Re: Audacity won't run after forced update.

Did anyone ever solve the problem of Audacity breaking after a Windows update problem? Haven't been able to use it since, and the WASAPI fix mentioned didn't work either. Thx. See here: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=100117 Apparently this applies to all recording devices, ...

Re: Audacity slow loading

There's a few ideas here that may or may not help (they didn't help the person that was asking, but perhaps still worth a look): https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... 4c416fb119

Re: Selection too long for analysis

I wonder if there's an easy way to tell when the tools are going to poop out. In many cases it's platform dependent. On 64-bit Linux, most Nyquist effects can manage very long files, subject to the amount of available memory installed. On Windows, several Nyquist effects crash at around 2,147,483,6...

Re: Audacity slow loading

The log looks normal.

Check that your anti-virus / security products are not scanning Audacity when it first launches.
Provided that you know that your copy of Audacity is not infected with anything nasty, it is safe to white-list it in your security apps.

Re: Missing toolbar icons

This issue was not occurring with an older Nvidia NVS 300 graphics card That would strongly point the finger at the Nvidia GT 1030. I have not reinstalled the old card to see if it has any effect I'd suggest that you do that. If installing the old card fixes the problem, then that would be strong c...

So it will add track names
No. It will add track numbers to the metadata.
If you enable the option "Show Metadata Tags editor before export", then you will see what it is doing, and have the opportunity to update fields as necessary (this option is enabled by default).

Re: Composer name repeating on Multiple export?

Audacity has one set of metadata per project . When using Export Multiple, you can enter information into the Metadata Editor before starting the export. Export Multiple automatically adds track numbers to the metadata, counting up from '1'. If anything else in the metadata needs to change from one ...

Re: Simplest video recorder with best playback ?

VLC is good. It's free (open source), it works on Windows, Mac and Linux, and it supports a huge range of file formats.
