Audacity does not print anything to the stdout.

Launch Audacity, then look in the Audacity log ("Help menu > Diagnostics > Show Log").

For accuracy, you can, but it's not usually the best way in Audacity.
Normally in Audacity you would either just use "Record" or "Shift + Record" and let Audacity create tracks as necessary.

Well it is the same colors of the waveform actually... it's meant to represent that the level in the wave/RMS is the same thing shown in the meter.

So it changes if a different waveform color is selected?
(I assume not, unless you have also modified the C++ code)
