Re: the keyboard shortcut to select the entire track currently being operated
For example, Logitech's SetPoint accepts one-stage shortcut as key-stroke. https://allyourinternets.wordpress.com/ ... -firefox/ Though the images in the URL are old, the setting of accept is same in now. So you want to configure your mouse to select all of the audio in the current track? If I've u...

Nothing at all, or several hours of silence?Richardmilton wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 10:24 amWhen I try to import the file into Audacity to edit it, Audacity behaves as though it has imported a file, but there's nothing there.
How long (time) is your 1.3 GB file?

Re: 0.75mW/cm2 help ?
1 mW = 0.001 Watts (a unit of power: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watt) cm² = 1 square centimetre (a unit of area). mW/cm² says how much power is landing on, or being applied per unit area. It could, for example, be used to say how much energy is collected by a solar panel per day. Another example:...

Re: the keyboard shortcut to select the entire track currently being operated
And, I need one-stage shortcut to set in programmable app. Why can't you use two commands? In the next release of Audacity (due out in a few weeks), it will be possible to create a macro that selects from the start of the track to the end of the track. It is also possible to set keyboard shortcuts ...

Re: Record Level Meter Permanently Turned On Option
If you are doing a recording session (as indicated to the application by either starting recording, or activating the recording meter), why not just leave the meter on unless / until turned off by clicking on it? What is the benefit of automatically turning it off every time that Stop is pressed (as...

Re: 8 hour recording exported as 2 hours
I'm guessing that you are exporting as a WAV file. The WAV file format has a size limit of 4 GB. For very long recordings it is necessary to use a different format, such as FLAC or MP3, or split the recording into a series of smaller files. Re: Audacity VST (Idea for developers)
It is unlikely that Audacity will ever become a VST plug-in. Several reasons: Audacity is a cross-platform application, but VST is (mostly) Windows only. VST architecture is designed primarily for real-time processing, which is not supported by Audacity. As a VST plug-in, a host application would be...

Re: Listening my record while singing
If you are using the sound card that is built into your computer, it is not possible to hear yourself through the headphones without it sounding like a delayed echo (which is fantastically off-putting). To hear yourself through the headphones without a delay, you need to use a recording device that ...

Re: ogg file from telegram
Testing with Audacity 2.2.2 on Windows 10 64-bit, Audacity crashes when attempting to import "audio_2018-08-22_08-35-11.ogg" Testing with Audacity 2.3.0 alpha on the same machine, the file is imported correctly. Audacity 2.3.0 is due to be released in a few weeks. Workaround until Audacity...
