Re: Looking for laptop with built-in Direct firing speakers? With great sound quality.

Background info: The main reason why downward firing speakers are common / popular these days, is because of a peculiar acoustic phenomenon: When the laptop is placed on a hard surface (despite the name, "laptops" are usually used on a table or desk), the small gap between the speaker and ...

Re: Recorded Audacity File Is Far Shorter Than It Should Be

The "Microsoft PCM WAV" format has a maximum size of 4 GB (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV#Limitations) If you had the original (or backup copy) Audacity project, you could have exported in a format that supports longer recordings, such as FLAC, OGG or MP3. Unfortunately I think that the...

The operation "select between markers" would be much easier.
That's rather like using a region label. Click the label's tag and it selects the region.

Audacity's labels are extremely powerful once you get to know them. https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/label_tracks.html

Re: Improve editing functions

If Audacity could or would adopt similar editing features, especially similar keyboard functionality, it would be a clear winner. But some of our users come from Cool Edit pro, or WaveLab, or Gold Wave or ... and they all have their own shortcuts. While adopting Sound Forge's shortcuts may be good ...

Re: Doesn't work on MacOS Mojave (beta 10.14)

My guess is that, because Apple are phasing out support for 32-bit applications, that Mojave beta has no support for 32-bit apps. Whether or not the release version of Mojave will support 32-bit apps is yet to be seen (have you seen any official announcements from Apple?) The next release of Audacit...

Re: Help needed modifying Limiter2.ny plugin

The latest version of the Limiter plug-in is included in the current version of Audacity. In the latest version, (I don't know which version you have), you can get an effective minimum threshold of -20 dB by setting the "input gain" to +10 dB (amplifies the signal by +10 dB before limiting...

I have a Rode microphone
Which one? The RØDE Podcaster is an end-address microphone (the mic should point towards your mouth). Some of their others are side-address mics.

Do you now what app I would need to create chapter tags on MP3s
No idea. I don't use chapter tags.
I would keep each MP3 as separate files, and use my MP3 player to create a playlist.
