Re: Retime (Time Track) Labels?
If there's not too many of them, you can click on the circle on the label stem and drag it to the correct place. Alternatively you could modify the times in the label editor: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/labels_editor.html If there are a lot of labels, and you know the correct times for the l...

Re: WAV files recorded with FTR Audio
I tried your steps but do not get the dialog box when I choose "File>Import>Audio". Sure you do. The "Import dialog" is the window in your picture that says "Select one or more files" at the top. The "format filter" is currently set to "All files" (...

Re: Audacity 2.2.1 crashing when I try to being recording
Could it be a result of downloading the LAME Encoder for mp3 file export? Unlikely. My audio feed is coming from a Presonus StudioLive 32.4.2AI via S800 FireWire. As a test, try rebooting your computer with the Presonus disconnected, and see if you can run Audacity using the iMac's built in mic and...

Re: Best Distro for Audacity?
We see view few problem reports from CentOS users, but that could be because: * they don't have problems * they are more experienced users and are able to fix problems themselves * they don't use Audacity CentOS is certainly one of the more popular Linux distributions for servers, so it could be a c...

Re: Best Distro for Audacity?
There's not really a "best" distro for Audacity, but the few people in the Audacity team that use Linux are on Debian / Ubuntu based distributions. I was a long time user of Debian Stable, and I still do some testing on Debian, but I mostly use Xubuntu. Currently I'm on 16.04 LTS, but I'm ...

Re: Delay with bpm and panning
I thought about this possibility, but it would take away the precision to the effect, because the width control in the bandpass2 function works in a way contrary to the number that is used to establish the q in the eq-band function. You don't need to change the filter to the eq-band filter. You cou...

Re: Adjusting volume for only a portion of the song.
Probably the best way is to use the Envelope Tool: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/envelope_tool.html

Re: Export Multiple does not work for anything other than the first track
Export Multiple will export one or more files based on "tracks" OR "labels". When based on tracks, each audio track is exported as a separate file. Label tracks are ignored. When based on labels, the labels in the FIRST (topmost) label track define the start and end times of each...

Re: 3 separate tones to 3 separate speakers
Audacity can create multi-channel audio files, but only supports mono or stereo playback. So you could produce, with Audacity, a 3 channel audio file, but you would need a different program to be able to play it.

Re: 7.1 Channel Names
Getting channel allocations right is a bit tricky. They vary depending on the file format, and not all players are the same. The best "standards" information is probably this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surround_ ... ifications
