You will have to work out what the "unknown key" is. Audacity cannot guess what key you want to transpose from.

Audacity is not suitable for running on a server. It is heavily GUI oriented and it is not security hardened for server use.

SoX is a command line audio editor that may be more suitable: http://sox.sourceforge.net/

This bug was reported for Audacity 2.3.0 which is the current alpha version of Audacity. Are you testing the alpha version, or just trying to spam the forum?

It depends on the "Size" setting and sample rate.

The minimum time interval is the same as the "Size" setting in samples. So for the minimum size setting of 128, and a sample rate of 44100 Hz, the minimum duration is 128 / 44100 = (about) 3 ms.

Perhaps the tape recording is faulty.

Which version of Audacity do you have?
Have you tried rebooting the computer?

I suspect that the reason you have no replies is because no-one understands what you are doing.
