Re: Steinberg UR12 - Audacity 2.2.2 - Linux Mint

Still the same, not physical audio devices listed.

Open your sound settings, and look in the "Input" and "Output" tabs. Which, if any, devices are listed for each?

Got the same problem, so it would be great to me too!
Note that since this topic was started, Audacity has gained ways to move tracks up/down that do not require dragging. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/aud ... _menu.html

Re: Import/Export Labels as Subtitle Files (*srt) od cue files

I'm not able to add this feature request at present as you have provided insufficient detail, so I don't have a clear picture of what you are asking for. From this page (http://ale5000.altervista.org/subtitles.htm) it appears that SRT files have many more options that labels. Labels just have a star...

I've not found an official specification for SRT files. Does one exist?

Re: diesel engine noise analysis- developer wanted

While I can see and hear the differences between those waveforms, writing software that can analyze engine health from the sound is likely to be very difficult and very costly (thousands of dollars), and without doing a lot of research first, it will not be possible to predict how the health assessm...

Re: Noise Gate won't install

As with installing most other software, installing plug-ins requires that you provide administrative authorization to install. If your log-in account does not have the necessary permissions to install software, as the person that does to install it for you.

Re: Find music in audio book file

The waveform of music generally looks different from the waveform for speech. Speech has a distinctive pattern of sound and silences that correspond to words. If you adjust the zoom level, the difference should be easy to see when scrolling through the track. See here how to zoom: https://manual.aud...

That's weird. It seems that Audacity can't see any audio devices on your system.
Try rebooting the computer and get the "Help menu > Diagnostics > Audio Device Info" again.
If you have Skype for Linux, ensure that it is not set to startup on log-in.
