In the future it may be possible to write a script to automate the process, but unfortunately that does not help you now. How is the mic connected to the computer?
What settings in the Windows Sound Control Panel and Audacity's device toolbar?

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about sample rates or spectrogram settings?
If you set custom spectrogram settings for a specific track, those settings are no longer affected by the settings in Preferences.
