You need to "Export" from the project to create normal audio files (such as WAV, MP3, OGG or FLAC files).
Most software audio players provide the ability to create playlists for normal audio files.

Although you have not said so, I'm guessing that exporting to an MP3 file is involved somewhere in your workflow as that would explain the problem that you describe.
