Re: Batch Fix WAV Header

Audacity does not support import RAW as a batch process. Normal import may work sometimes, depending on how badly damaged the header is, but it will be very hit or miss. I think SoX is likely to provide a better solution. It is a command line program (no GUI) so you would need to write a script to r...

Re: Audacity will open its GUI, but everything beyond leads to system crash

1) remove the '$' prompts in the code section, as they make cop-and-paste less straightforward; That was intentional ;) I'm not suggesting that this applies to you, but it is very common for people with little experience of code, to blindly copy and paste without paying sufficient attention to what...

Re: Gradually slow song?

In addition to Trebor's excellent answer, there is also the "Sliding Time Scale / Pitch Shift" effect. https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/sli ... shift.html

Re: AUTOMATING inserting separate voice recordings to create a conversation output. Has anyone done it?

this is normal for our industry Which industry is that? Language courses? The reason I'm asking is so that I can get a feel for what you are trying to achieve. With natural dialog, the timing between one voice and another is fluid (there may be gaps, or voices may overlap), but for a listener the p...

Re: Position line is offset of the actual position?

I know that looks a little weird, but it is actually correct. The dots that you see when you zoom in close are the " samples ". Samples occur at evenly spaced intervals, according to the "sample rate". For example, if the sample rate is 44100 Hz (44100 samples per second), then t...

Re: Truncate Silence - problem in cutting identical intervals of silence

I can see in the screenshots in your last post that it is not being truncated to the correct length, but it does not appear to show that it is being truncated by 0.8 seconds. According to your figures the first silence is reduced by 0.79 s and the second silence truncated by 0.47 s. As a test, so th...

Re: Audacity 2.2.2 crashes on stop recording Windows 10

Are you running Audacity on a network? Audacity is designed to be run on a local machine, and to read/write data to a local drive. Network delays can cause havoc because Audacity requires real-time access to the drive.

Re: AUTOMATING inserting separate voice recordings to create a conversation output. Has anyone done it?

So how would I find someone interested in being paid to do that for me? That's really outside of the scope of this forum. We don't offer commercial services. This is a "help forum" where we help people to get the best out of the Audacity software. Perhaps if you told us more about what yo...
