Re: Cables for MOTU Microbook IIc

My understanding is that if I use the internal WASAPI loopback as you suggest this will go through the computer's sound card, No. If you select the Microbook as the playback device, and the Microbook "loopback" as the recording device, then the computer's sound card has nothing to do with...

Re: macro question

No, it can't do that.
What is it you are trying to do, and why do you need to use sound activated recording?

Re: Cables for MOTU Microbook IIc

When I used my behringer interface I had a pair of cables with one end in the input sockets and the other in the output sockets. I’m guessing I need the same kind of configuration Rather than physically connecting inputs to outputs, you can probably do it by routing the signals through the computer...

Re: Lame_Enc not being recognised/detected

I tried to repeat the process for Lame and I think I may have misdirected the library update on my first attempt. Is that what you meant to say, or do you mean that you tried to repeat the process for "FFmpeg"? It looks like FFmpeg is installed in the wrong place. I'd suggest that you uni...

Re: Can we use mono mic to fill both channels with Audacity 2.2.2?

I'll tag that section of the manual for updating. It has now been updated. The updated version will appear in the next Audacity release. That section now says: If your recording device is mono, such as most microphone ports for the inbuilt sound device, it is recommended to set the number of record...

Re: Can we use mono mic to fill both channels with Audacity 2.2.2?

Why cannot I see both channels are duplicated and filled when using this option with a mono mic? Only one channel is filled even after I use this option. https://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=21421 I think that part of the manual is a bit out of date. How many channels are recorded fr...

Re: How To Speed Up Multiple Files?

"Chains" were a kind of cut down version of "macros".
We've now called them macros, and extended what they can do.
The Macro commands are in the new "Tools" menu.

Information about what macros are and how to use them: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/macros.html

Re: new device

Input - PreSonus audio interface Which one? What are you intending to record - microphone? The first thing to do it to check that the audio device is working correctly with Windows. Connect the audio device, headphones and audio source (mic or whatever), then open the Windows Sound Control Panel an...

Re: making a motor sound

What sort of electric car sound do you want? Perhaps you could find a YouTube video and rip a sample from it?
