Re: Recording a Quieter Safety Track?
It depends on your hardware. If you have two conventional (not USB) microphones plugged into a 2 channel USB mic pre-amp, then you can simply set the level of one mic pre-amp lower than the other, then record "2 channels (stereo)", and split the stereo track into 2 mono tracks after record...

Re: 2.3.0 Debug Error
Is the text in the "wxWidgets Debug Alert" exactly the same as reported by DarkSwordsman ?
(it would be helpful if you could copy and paste the error message into your reply - it's impossible to search the code without the errors as text.)

Re: stereo mix missing XP
On XP, there may not be an option for "Stereo Mix". It all depends on the sound card and the sound card drivers. For SoundBlaster cards, "Stereo Mix" was called "What U Hear". Please note that we no longer officially support Windows XP. (Microsoft ended support for XP a...

Re: Can't open my Audacity Project file!
A friend of mine tells me that if I place the .aup file along with the data back in its original place, the problem will be fixed. Your friend is probably correct. You need to search for the folder that is called "Tin Can Town Audio Story_data". In the top right of any finder window there...

Re: Is there a master volume envelope?
However undo still fails to undo the effect of that code. That's a "peculiarity" (aka "bug") in the new scripting mechanism. You can probably workaround it by undoing (Ctrl + Z) to one step past the point where the effect was applied, and then "redo" one step to bring ...

Re: Is there a master volume envelope?
Switch to the "Envelope Tool" and you will see the control points. This code is not acting directly on the audio, it is telling Audacity to create an envelope. Even setting that envelope value at 1 still produces a sharp cut ... I think you may not have modified the code quite right. Try t...

Re: It worked before, now it doesn't
I don't get the option to select USB Device as my recording device Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel in the recording tab. When the Vinyl Forever black box is connected to the computer, you should see a recording device listed that is not there when it is not connected. If you can't see the d...

Re: Ribbon Mic recording [CLOSED]
I just bought a copy of the plans for the Austin DIY Ribbon Mic and want to use it in Audacity. Being a ribbon mic, it requires a high gain, and the preamplifier designed to be compatible with it has an input impedance of 33k Ohms. Is there a usb soundcard that can work temporarily in place of the ...
