Dear experts! Is it possible to improve the editor so that changing project rate could be included to the chain (macros)?
You'll be pleased to know that subject to testing, this should be available in the next release (scheduled for January).

Re: Trying to Record from Cassette Tape.

Check the USB lead and connections. It looks like the USB device is disconnecting.

Once the connection has been lost, Audacity is unlikely to find it again, even if the device reconnects, without either:
* restarting Audacity
* Rescanning audio devices ("Transport" menu)

Re: Project & Track Notes/History

Don't see a macro recorder in Audacity. Did I miss it? No, we've not got one. There's a lot of new stuff for macros in the current 2.3.0 version, but no macro recorder as yet. There is a feature request that you may want to support: Create macro by recording a sequence of actions (2 votes 23Jul17) ...

Re: Assertion Failure - Audacity 2.1.2

Found it. I thought it sounded familiar, but I've not used Audacity 2.1.2 for a couple of years (we are currently working on 2.3.1).

Re: Project & Track Notes/History

The way that I've seen it done in other audio software, is that you start a "macro recorder", which then records all of your commands until you tell it to stop. There is then an opportunity to edit the "script" that the macro recorder created, and save it as a file for later use.

(Audacity 2.1.2; it sounds like perhaps this is a known issue?)
There is a known issue with 2.2.1 that has some similarities with the op's report, but I don't recall anything similar with 2.1.2.
Also, the op is not on 2.1.2 and is not on Linux, so I doubt that your issue is related.

Re: Assertion Failure - Audacity 2.1.2

Does the problem only occur with that one project or all projects?
Does the problem only occur when exporting as FLAC or all formats?
