Re: Builing with mod-script-pipe on Ubuntu Linux
Here's a short version of how I build Audacity on Ubuntu 16.04: Starting from the root of the Audacity source tree: mkdir build cd build mkdir "Portable Settings" ../configure --with-lib-preference="local system" --with-ffmpeg="system" --disable-dynamic-loading --with-m...

Re: Chris Capel's Dynamic Compressor
1. 'Noise gate falloff' I just leave that at the default setting. 2. Noise level at the beginning and end of the file seems to be greatly amplify after compression. Is there an easy way to fix this? It can sometimes help to add a bit of "padding" at the start / end of the track before app...

Re: The key X didn't work
It works for me.
Which version of Audacity? (look in "Help > About Audacity")
Perhaps you need to reset the keyboard shortcuts. See the bottom of this page for instructions (Audacity 2.3.0): https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/key ... ences.html

Re: Not recording but it shows sound on the Recording meter toolbar
I see sound is coming into Audacity through the Recording Meter Toolbar but nothing is showing in the Audiotracks. Perhaps your recording level is too low for the track to be visible? When you try to record, does the recording look like a flat blue line? What level do you see in the recording meter...

Re: Don't know what I did????
If it looks like this, then you probably accidentally caught the F6 key:

Try pressing the F1 key to get back to the normal "Selection cursor".

Re: In 2.3, I can't set frequency smoothing bands to more than 12 anymore
The controls in the current version are different from the old version. The current version will usually produce better results than the old version, but you will need to use different settings. The default settings are a good place to start (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/noise_reduction....

Re: Recording with Audacity - Pioneer RMX 1000 & XDJ-RX2
That looks like a very complicated bit of kit. Unless another Audacity user just happens to have the same equipment (not very likely), you would probably be better seeking support from Pioneer's support channel.
