Re: No signal from USB turntable (Mojave)

This solution wouldn't have been entirely intuitive to me, as I don't recall having done that with the previous version of the Mac OS It's one of the new wonderful features of Mojave (and Windows 10). I'm attaching a snap of what that looks like, in case that might be helpful to other folks experie...

Re: No signal from USB turntable (Mojave)

You may need to enable access to the USB device under Security & Privacy.

Are you able to record from the MacBook microphone?

Re: Noise reduction degrades voice

"Noise Reduction" effects are designed to reduce low level constant noise such as "tape hiss". "Feedback" is the loud "oooooh" sound that occurs when sound from a loudspeaker feeds back into a microphone, is amplified and comes back out of the loudspeaker in a...

Re: No signal from USB turntable (Mojave)

I've split your posts from the other topic because it gets very confusing if multiple questions are asked in one topic. I realized that Audacity 2.1.3.0 was no longer recognizing the input signal from the USB turntables. I presume that you connected the turntable before launching Audacity? If not, t...

3.0.0 will be the first 64 bit version?
2.3.1 is planned to be the first 64-bit version for macOS.
2.3.1 will still be 32-bit for Windows.
On Linux, Audacity may be built as 32-bit or 64-bit, depending on the machine that it is built on.

Re: Problem with Mac OS MOJAVE

However I have no control over the USB input level. That is normal for USB audio devices. The device sends the digitized signal to the computer via USB, and that is the signal that Audacity records. Most USB audio devices have an input level control on the device itself - you should use that to con...

(usual method: Windows WASAPI > Speakers 2- Logitech G933 (loopback) > 2 (stereo)
I'm unsure what you mean.

In the device toolbar you have:
host = "WASAPI"
Recording device = ???
Playback device = ???

Re: Issue: Cannot open relative path from command line if an Audacity instance is already running

There can only ever be one instance of Audacity. This is by design. There can be multiple "projects" open at the same time, but that is multiple project windows within one instance of the Audacity program. Entering "audacity" at the command line attempts to launch the Audacity ap...
