Where did you download it from, and what is the exact name of the file that you downloaded?

There may well be a mobile version of Audacity in the future, but at present the short answer to the original question is that Audacity will not run on an iPad.

Look in "Help menu > About Audacity" to find the exact version number. I'm expecting it is either 3.0.0 or 3.0.2.

I'd suggest that you update to the current "Audacity 3.0.2" (available via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/)
Then "Reset Configuration" (in the "Tools" menu).

Try resetting your Audacity shortcuts back to default settings - they may have got messed up somehow. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/key ... ences.html (section about default shortcuts is near the bottom of the page).
