Re: Audacity Not Recognising Mixer
I'm struggling to find the "Audio Devices" panel. Where can I find this? You mean as in this post: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=357318#p357318 That's in the macOS Sound settings. If I recall correctly (I'm not currently on a Mac), you get to it via: "Apple menu > Sy...

Re: recording what the computer is playing
I'm assuming that your computer is a laptop, and the only audio device is the built-in sound card, and you are listening to MP3s playing in Windows Media Player through the laptop's built-in speakers. Is that correct?
Why do you need to record MP3s? Why don't you just copy the files?

Re: Timer function question
You could start Timer Record (https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/timer_record.html) with the start time as now, and the end time as now + 25 mins (set "duration" to 25 mins).

Re: Audacity Not Recognising Mixer
There was a very similar problem posted a while back. They were also using a USB device, Audacity 2.3.0 and Mojave. (You have not said, but I assume that you are using Audacity 2.3.0 - if not, you can update from: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/) The problem was eventually resolved, but u...

Re: Editing Recordings - Overwrite & Insert
With an existing recording, how do you overwrite? I'm not talking about pasting in a clip, just simply recoding over exsiting sound. Record to a new track ("Shift + Record button" or "Shift + R"), and silence the part that you want to replace (several ways to do that, including:...
