Re: Windows 10. Tried to download Lame 3.99.3

I'm trying to import MP4. So I go and download Lame. LAME is for "Exporting" MP3 files. "MP4" files are completely different. To "Import" MP3 , you don't need anything - Audacity can do that on its own. To import MP4 , you need to install FFMpeg. See: https://manual.au...

Re: Export Multiple: use single dialog

There's an option in Preferences to stop the Metadata Editor from opening for each file.
See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/imp ... ences.html

Re: Building with ASIO support on Windows

the four tracks that get added when I start recording don't look correct. It has just made the first two channels into a stereo track. Re: Optimally zooming on a selection.

when i run the 2.3 version, the Mac OS is saying "Audacity is not optimized for your Mac. - This app needs to be updated by its developer to improve compatibility". You can safely ignore that for now. Apple are abandoning support for 32-bit software and 32-bit Macs, so they want everyone ...

Re: Increase volume on multiple files at the same time

You can batch process with a "macro" (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/macros.html) and use the "Amplify" effect in the macro. Note that when used as a macro command, the Amplify effect has no protection against clipping - if you amplify too much, it will cause (permanent...

Re: Recovering Project Data

Is the project noticeably missing some bits of audio (periods of absolute silence where there should be sound)?
If so, how much is missing and where is it missing from?
