Re: About Attachments...
PNG and JPG files are both allowed in forum posts. If a file upload is too big, there is a message from the forum software that says it is too big. If the upload fails and there is no error message, then the problem may just be due to network congestion (poor Internet connection to the forum). Addit...

Re: L+R, L-R Mixer?
I also came from CoolEdit, and missed that feature, so I made a "Channel Mixer" plug-in that is now available on the Audacity wiki: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Nyquist_Effect_Plug-ins#Channel_Mixer Instructions for installing "Nyquist plug-ins" on macOS: https://manual.aud...

Re: audacity limited to wasapi
ASIO is unlikely due to license terms (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/asio_audio_interface.html) Audacity may be built with ASIO support for personal use, but currently requires agreeing to Steinberg's "not distributable" license. DirectSound is even more unlikely as it is deprec...

Re: Audacity will not record after latest OS X update (Mojave)
Didn't Mojave (and Windows) throw an additional security step in there before it would connect to an external device? Yes. By default, Mojave denies programs access to the microphone (any microphone or other audio input device). The setting is under "Security & Privacy" settings. See ...

Re: In search of an Audacity Tutor
Be careful of on-line videos. Many of them have errors / mistakes / bad advice / poor examples /... and they almost always show obsolete versions of Audacity without telling you which version they are using (and no-one ever goes back to update them). Unfortunately we do not have the resources to pro...

What model number is the Pinnacle?
Which version of Windows?
Does the Pinnacle officially support your version of Windows?
Did you check the number of channels set for the device in the Windows Sound Control Panel?

Re: Recovering Project Data
Thanks Steve! I'm not sure which version of Audacity it is. There's no "About Audacity" option in my Audacity menu. But it's pretty old. It must be ancient ;) You can get the current version via the Audacity website: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ Given that your version is so...

Re: Recorded audio is one semitone lower than yesterday
What happened? Why did it suddenly change? You probably have a mismatch of sample rates somewhere. The default sample rate for Audacity is 44100 Hz (the same as an audio CD). Look at the "Project Rate" (lower left corner of the main Audacity window) and it should say "44100". Th...
