Did you import multiple MP3 files into Audacity and export as one long MP3 file?

Which direction do you want to expand it?

To expand vertically:
"View menu > Track Size > Fit to Height"

Sorry but I still don't understand what the problem is that you are trying to describe, or what this has to do with Audacity.

I'd suggest that you go back to Audacity 2.4.2 until the next Audacity release - it sounds like you may be running into a couple of bugs which are fixed in the current development code and will soon be available in the next release version. Note that projects saved by Audacity 3.0.0 cannot be opened...
