I cannot find a way to increase the column width for these,
There is a "Resizer" at the right hand end of the device toolbar:

I think you would do better asking about this on the translator's mailing list, as that is where the translation experts hang out. (https://sourceforge.net/projects/audaci ... ranslation)

Re: Unwanted silence when exporting a file

I don't know the Ogg Vorbis extention, is this also a compressed file? Yes, it's a free and more modern compressed audio format. See: https://xiph.org/vorbis/ and https://wiki.hydrogenaud.io/index.php?title=Vorbis) Is the leading silence always a problem with .mp3? Yes. Or do other DAWS export the ...

Re: Track screen area starting point not staying in its place

It is highly recommended to use paragraphs when writing a long post. People are less likely to read the question if they see an impenetrable wall of text. Moderator note: I added paragraphing to aid readability I'm zoomed in that it can only display a track for a one second range in the screen, whic...

Re: Wave is not in sync with the sound

Perhaps you have set the buffer size too long in Audacity Preferences. The default is 100 ms. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/dev ... ences.html

If you are using PulseAudio, that will add an additional buffer delay.

Re: Macro equivalent fro "insert silence"?

However even after unticking this option the "silence" *macro* still behaves as before: it doesn't complain about the missing selection, but silences the whole track. Yes, that's correct. "Macros" have developed out of the old "Chains" feature, which was rather more li...

Re: Stereo Mix

Sorry, I missed the fact that you are using Windows XP.
The final version of Audacity for Windows XP was Audacity 2.2.2. Old versions of Audacity may be downloaded from https://www.fosshub.com/Audacity-old.html
