Re: Formatting of posts: buttons have no effect

Then switched to uBlockOrigin, but I double checked and it doesn't indicate to block anything. I use uBlockOrigin, so I don't think that's the problem. Check that javascript is enabled in "about:config" (see: https://www.technipages.com/firefox-enable-disable-javascript) The default javas...

Re: Macro: How to make a selection relative to labels

Which version of Audacity are you using? I see from one of your other forum topics that you have Audacity 2.3.0. I'd forgotten, but in Audacity 2.3.0 there was a problem with the formatting of the data from the command (aud-get-info "Labels") . This problem has been resolved in Audacity 2...

I'm assuming 2.3.0, but I'm using 2.3.1 alpha, so I may have included a feature that is not in 2.3.0 ("scripting" is under heavy development).

So I'd strongly recommend to see that the forum SW works OK on both browsers (at least).
I'm using Firefox 63.0.3.

Perhaps you have an "Add On" installed in Firefox that is blocking JavaScript (I think the "NoScript" add-on will do that).

Re: Hum remover.

Does this happen with all projects, or just one specific project?

If it happens with all projects, please give step by step instructions for how to reproduce the issue. (I can't currently reproduce the issue, and going by the other replies, it seems that no-one else can either.)

Re: Macro equivalent fro "insert silence"?

Thought you might be interested in an update. I've discussed the question of "duration" controls from built-in generator effects in relation to "Macros", with the lead developer of the Macro / Scripting features. Here's some of his comments, which I think will give you an insight...

but it lacks a Search tool. A built-in search tool would be a terrific addition in my opinion. Unfortunately, we don't know of any search tools that will work reliably on all machines that Audacity supports. JavaScript based search tools are available, but unfortunately Windows blocks JavaScript un...

Re: Usability, Plain English, and a Help Guide Search tool

what is the “recording device” on a PC? The device used for recording :? What is a “host”? Most modern computer operating systems provide a number of different "systems" for handling audio. For Windows 10, the options are: MME , DirectSound and WASAPI (and optionally ASIO , which is a 3rd...
