Re: Reproducible crash in 2.3.0 when applying "Bass and Treble" filter while playback is running

Audacity 2.3.0 is for Windows and MacOS only. It should not have been packaged for the RPMFusion repository as a "release" package as 2.3.0 is "experimental" on Linux and known to have some serious issues (including the one that you describe). See also: https://www.audacityteam.o...

I prefer ocenaudio
It is available for Linux, Windows and MacOS: https://www.ocenaudio.com/download

If you can't be bothered to learn how to create a PKGBUILD that uses the RPM as the source file, then you could install an operating system that Oceanaudio supports.

Re: Current timestamp

Audacity also has an option to include the "clock time" in the name of a newly added track, so that you have a record of when the recording started.

Re: Can't launch Quick Help after correctly following instructions

Audacity 2.3.0 is for Windows and MacOS only. The current release for Linux is 2.2.2. The next release for Linux will be 2.3.1 and is scheduled for January. The ZIP manual for 2.3.0 was packaged slightly differently from previous version, which is why the instructions do not work. The ZIP manual for...

Re: Current timestamp

By "current timestamp", do you mean "clock time" (the time on my mantelpiece clock), or do you mean "current play position, relative to the start of the track"?

Re: Latency when recording Guitar etc

Most (but not all) USB audio devices provide a headphone socket that allow the input to be monitored directly (no latency). This is usually called either "direct monitoring" or "zero latency monitoring". An inexpensive example that falls in this category is the Behringer UM-2 htt...

Re: login oddities on Firefox

it says "logout" where I would expect "login" I've heard back from the System Administrator. Apparently it's a cache issue that he was already aware of but does not see a solution for. The cache is necessary because of the large amount of traffic to the Audacity websites. At lea...

Re: Installing Manual 2.3.0 in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

I tried to install a local copy of the Manual using the Unzipping the Manual instructions from the Wiki: It seems that the manual was zipped incorrectly. Also, please note that the 2.3.0 release of Audacity is for Windows and Mac only. The current release of Audacity for Linux is 2.2.2. (The 2.2.2 ...
