That is normal. To record to a new track, hold down the "Shift" key and click the record button.

If the tracks have definite "notes" (pitch and key), then you would normally want them to be in the same key, or related keys. If there are chord progressions, then you would normally want them to have the same chord progression. If they have different rhythms, then you need them to have r...

I can confirm, you don't. 24-bit WAV is natively supported by Audacity in the way described in your post.

yes I did that and check the rate of each. both have 16 bit 44100. and I matched to audacity track. 16bit 44100.
Did you match the "Project Rate" to 44100?
("Project Rate" is in the lower left corner of the main Audacity window)
